The SQSTM1 sqstm1 (Catalog #MBS9414913) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SQSTM1 Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s SQSTM1 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EIA), Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC). Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SQSTM1 sqstm1 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process. The SQSTM1 sqstm1 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #214830438) (NCBI Accession #NP_001135770.1) (Uniprot Accession #Q13501). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the SQSTM1 Antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of SQSTM1 in Human spleen tissue lysate with SQSTM1 antibody at (A) 1 and (B) 2 ug/mL.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Immunohistochemistry of SQSTM1 in rat spleen tissue with SQSTM1 antibody at 5 ug/mL.)
SQSTM1/p62 is an adapter protein which binds ubiquitin and regulates signaling cascades through ubiquitination. It may regulate the activation of NF-kB by TNF-a, nerve growth factor (NGF) and interleukin-1. SQSTM1/p62, a co-interacting protein of the atypical PKC isoforms, has an UBA domain at its C-terminal end, which binds non-covalently to polyubiquitin chain. SQSTM1\'s UBA domain is necessary for recruitment of polyubiquitin and aggresome formation. SQSTM1 may play a role in titin/TTN downstream signaling in muscle cells and may be involved in cell differentiation, apoptosis, immune response and regulation of K+ channels. Mutations in the ubiquitin-associated (UBA) domain of SQSTM1 commonly cause Paget\'s disease of bone since the UBA is necessary for aggregate sequestration and cell survival.
Immunogen Type: Peptide
Immunogen Description: Raised against a 14 amino acid peptide from near the carboxy terminus of human SQSTM1. Target Name: SQSTM1. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing SQSTM1 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as SQSTM1 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Breast Neoplasms, Cardiovascular Diseases, Disease Models, Animal, Fibrosis, Inflammation, Liver Diseases, Necrosis, Nervous System Diseases, Osteitis Deformans are some of the diseases may be linked to SQSTM1 Antibody.
