|The STAT5A stat5a (Catalog #MBS417623) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Anti-STAT5A Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s STAT5A can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC).
IHC: 1:50~1:100. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the STAT5A stat5a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The STAT5A stat5a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #620598546) (NCBI Accession #AHY20523.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

This gene is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by the receptor associated kinases, and then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the cell nucleus where they act as transcription activators. This protein is activated by, and mediates the responses of many cell ligands, such as IL2, IL3, IL7 GM-CSF, erythropoietin, thrombopoietin, and different growth hormones. Activation of this protein in myeloma and lymphoma associated with a TEL/JAK2 gene fusion is independent of cell stimulus and has been shown to be essential for tumorigenesis. The mouse counterpart of this gene is found to induce the expression of BCL2L1/BCL-X(L), which suggests the antiapoptotic function of this gene in cells. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2013].
Storage Buffer: phosphate buffered saline (without Mg2+ and Ca2+), pH 7.4, 150mM NaCl, 0.02% sodium azide and 50% glycerol. Immunogen: The antiserum was produced against synthesized non-phosphopeptide derived from human STAT5A around the phosphorylation site of tyrosine 694 (D-G-YP-V-K). In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing STAT5A are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as STAT5A may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
