The Strep n/a (Catalog #MBS835622) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. MyBioSource\'s Strep can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).WB: 0.5-4 ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the Strep n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the Strep tag antibody with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of Strep tag 2 protein ladder (Lane 1) and ApoE4 control protein without Strep tag 2 (Lane 2) using anti-strep tag 2 antibody.)
Rabbit polyclonal Strep tag antibody.
Biological Significance: Streptavidin is a tetrameric protein purified from Streptomyces avidinii. It has wide use in numerous molecular biological protocols dues to its strong affinity for biotin. The original Strep-tag was a nine amino acid peptide with high specificity and affinity towards streptavidin which allows the simple purification of protein by use of affinity columns, but required addition to only the C-terminus of recombinant proteins. To also allow a Strep-tag to be placed at the N-terminus of recombinant proteins, it was re-engineered and re-named Strep-tag II. Immunogen: Strep tag antibody was raised in Rabbit using A synthetic Strep-Tag II peptide NWSHPQFEK conjugated to KLH as the immunogen. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing Strep are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as Strep may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
