The SUMO2 sumo2 (Catalog #MBS128802) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The SUMO2 Polyclonal Antibody reacts with Human, Mouse, Rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s SUMO2 can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunofluorescence (IF).WB: 1:500 - 1:2000
IHC: 1:50 - 1:200
IF: 1:50 - 1:200. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the SUMO2 sumo2 for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The SUMO2 sumo2 product has the following accession number(s) (GI #378405233) (NCBI Accession #P61956.3) (Uniprot Accession #P61956). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of extracts of various cell lines, using SUMO2 antibody at 1:1000 dilution.
Secondary antibody: HRP Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG (H+L) (MBS128200) at 1:10000 dilution.
Lysates/proteins: 25ug per lane.
Blocking buffer: 3% nonfat dry milk in TBST.)
Immunofluorescence (IF) (Immunofluorescence analysis of U2OS cells using SUMO2 antibody. Blue: DAPI for nuclear staining.)
This gene encodes a protein that is a member of the SUMO (small ubiquitin-like modifier) protein family. It functions in a manner similar to ubiquitin in that it is bound to target proteins as part of a post-translational modification system. However, unlike ubiquitin which targets proteins for degradation, this protein is involved in a variety of cellular processes, such as nuclear transport, transcriptional regulation, apoptosis, and protein stability. It is not active until the last two amino acids of the carboxy-terminus have been cleaved off. Numerous pseudogenes have been reported for this gene. Alternate transcriptional splice variants, encoding different isoforms, have been characterized.
Species: Human
Immunogen: Recombinant Protein. Immunogen: Recombinant protein of human SUMO2
Calculated Molecular Weight: 11kDa. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing SUMO2 are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as SUMO2 may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results. The following patways have been known to be associated with this gene.
