The tau n/a (Catalog #MBS630957) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The Tau (Ser262) (Tau Protein, Microtubule-associated Protein, MAP) reacts with Human, Mouse and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s Tau can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, ELISA (EL/EIA), Western Blot (WB).Suitable for use in ELISA and Western Blot.
Dilution: ELISA: 0.05-0.2ug/ml
Western Blot: 0.5-2ug/ml. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the tau n/a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The tau n/a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #21357661) (NCBI Accession #NP_651575.1). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Tau is a microtubule-associated phosphoprotein (MAP) which is localized in neuronal axons. It promotes tubulin polymerization and stabilizes microtubules. Tau proteins constitute a family of six isoforms ranging from 352 to 441 amino acids. The tau variant differs from each other with the presence or absence of either three or four repeated regions near the carboxy terminal of the molecule and one or two inserts near the amino terminal.
Immunogen: Synthetic non-phosphopeptide corresponding to the residues surrounding the serine 262 of human Tau. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing tau are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as tau may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
