The TFAP2A tfap2a (Catalog #MBS125382) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The AP-2alpha Rabbit pab Antibody reacts with Human, mouse, rat and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s AP-2alpha can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB).Western Blot (WB): 1/500-1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the TFAP2A tfap2a for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The TFAP2A tfap2a product has the following accession number(s) (GI #73760407) (NCBI Accession #NP_001027451.1) (Uniprot Accession #P05549). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Rabbit polyclonal to Human AP-2alpha
The sequence-specific transcription factor activator protein 2alpha (AP-2alpha) is required for normal growth and morphogenesis during mammalian development (1,2). Decreased or loss of AP-2alpha expression has been observed in many different types of human cancers including breast cancer (3,4), ovarian cancer (5), melanoma (6) and prostate cancer (7). These findings suggest that AP-2alpha expression plays a crucial role in tumorigenicity. Studies have also shown that p53 overexpression in human breast carcinoma cells induces the level of AP-2alpha expression. Furthermore, p53 binds to the cis-element in the AP-2alpha promoter, suggesting that AP-2alpha is a target of p53. AP-2alpha may mediate the effect of p53 to inhibit cell proliferation (8).
Immunogen: A fusion protein of human AP-2alpha. Buffer: PBS with 0.1% Sodium Azide, 50% Glycerol,. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing TFAP2A are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as TFAP2A may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
