Rabbit anti Toxoplasma gondii RH Strain antibody recognizes purified Toxoplasma gondii trophozoites. T. gondii is an intracellular protozoan parasite that enters its host via the gastrointestinal tract, and is the only member of the Toxoplasma genus. The definitive host of T. gondii is cats, but it can also be carried by a vast number of warm-blooded animals, including humans. Toxoplasmosis is usually minor and self-limiting but can have serious or even fatal effects on a fetus, or if the host is immunocompromised. T. gondii encephalitis (TE) is the most common cerebral opportunistic infection in patients with AIDS.
Perservative Stabilisers: 0.1% Sodium Azide (NaN3). Immunogen: Toxoplasma gondii RH strain.
Buffer Solution: Phosphate buffered saline
Target Species: Protozoan. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing TOXOPLASMA GONDII are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as TOXOPLASMA GONDII may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
