Rabbit anti VSV-G Tag antibody specifically recognizes recombinant proteins containing the Vesicular Stomatitis Virus Glycoprotein (VSV-G) epitope tag. Epitope tags are short peptide sequences that can be attached to proteins from all species, and do not affect the protein\'s biochemical properties. VSV is a member of the Rhabdoviridae family, and consists of a single RNA molecule that encodes five proteins, one of which is a surface glycoprotein (G). G is a type I membrane glycoprotein and is responsible for viral binding to cell surface receptors and initiating the infectious process. Rabbit anti VSV-G Tag antibody has been reported as suitable for immunofluorescence. However, filamentous staining may be observed at dilutions lower than 1:200.
Perservative Stabilisers: 0.09% Sodium Azide (NaN3)
1% Bovine Serum Albumin. Immunogen: Synthetic peptide corresponding to the carboxy terminal of vesicular stomatitis virus glycoprotein (VSV-G)
Buffer Solution: Phosphate buffered saline
Antiserum Preparation: Antisera to VSV-G were raised by repeated immunisations of rabbits with highly purified antigen. Purified IgG prepared by affinity chromatography.
Target Species: Viral. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing VSV-G TAG are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as VSV-G TAG may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
