anti-ACR antibody product blogThe ACR acr (Catalog #MBS9201348) is an Antibody produced from Rabbit and is intended for research purposes only. The product is available for immediate purchase. The ACR Antibody (Center) reacts with Human and may cross-react with other species as described in the data sheet. MyBioSource\'s ACR can be used in a range of immunoassay formats including, but not limited to, Western Blot (WB), ELISA (EIA), Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS).
WB~~1:1000. Researchers should empirically determine the suitability of the ACR acr for an application not listed in the data sheet. Researchers commonly develop new applications and it is an integral, important part of the investigative research process.
The ACR acr product has the following accession number(s) (GI #148613878) (NCBI Accession #NP_001088.2) (Uniprot Accession #P10323). Researchers may be interested in using Bioinformatics databases such as those available at The National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI) website for more information about accession numbers and the proteins they represent. Even researchers unfamiliar with bioinformatics databases will find the NCBI databases to be quite user friendly and useful.

Please refer to the product datasheet for known applications of a given antibody. We\'ve tested the ACR Antibody (Center) with the following immunoassay(s):
Western Blot (WB) (Western blot analysis of ACR Antibody (Center) in T47D cell line lysates (35ug/lane). ACR (arrow) was detected using the purified Pab.)
Immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human testis tissue reacted with ACR Antibody (Center), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.)
Flow Cytometry (FC/FACS) (ACR Antibody (Center) flow cytometric analysis of MDA-MB231 cells (bottom histogram) compared to a negative control cell (top histogram).FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis.)
ACR is the major proteinase present in the acrosome of mature spermatozoa. It is a typical serine proteinase with trypsin-like specificity. It is stored in the acrosome in its precursor form, proacrosin. The active enzyme functions in the lysis of the zona pellucida, thus facilitating penetration of the sperm through the innermost glycoprotein layers of the ovum. The mRNA for proacrosin is synthesized only in the postmeiotic stages of spermatogenesis. In humans proacrosin first appears in the haploid spermatids.
Antigen Type: Synthetic Peptide. Antigen Source: HUMAN. In general, we may offer more than one antibody to a given target to enable options for the researcher. Available antibodies recognizing ACR are readily searchable from our website. Different antibodies against the same target such as ACR may be optimized or tested for different applications and species. This enables researchers to select the option that may be best for their model system, to screen more than antibody to determine which one may be best for their model system, as well as to use more than one antibody to follow up on and validate their results.
